  Recently we were asked if a signed copy had a ‘Certificate of Authenticity’  for an author signed modern first edition. Our stated policy is this: Due to the prevalence of fraudulent Certificates of Authenticity from dishonest sellers, we avoid using that term. As members of the ABAA, we adhere to its Code of Ethics and can provide a letter confirming the item is as described. If, within a reasonable time after receiving it, you are unsatisfied, you may return it for a full refund, provided it remains unaltered and undamaged. It is not inappropriate to inquire.  Often as a seller we know the background of the book. With the book in question, we had acquired several all signed by the same author from a collector.  We have had signed copies before and had examples of the signature.   For greater assurance, any purchase from us comes with the backing of our membership in respected trade associations, including the ABAA, FABA, and IOBA.
